Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE)

MCLE stands for the mandatory or minimum continuing legal education required of attorneys in jurisdictions that have adopted an MCLE requirement. California has adopted a MCLE requirement for its lawyers.

Attorneys are required to complete a total of 25 hours of approved credit every 3 years. Visit the State Bar of California website to review the requirements. To ensure that lawyers receive quality legal education, the State Bar approves MCLE Providers and education activities.
