“Deposing The Medical Expert” presented by Brad Wixen

Brad Wixen is an expert in deposition of the medical expert. He has done this exclusively for attorneys in both workers compensation and personal injury cases across the state for the last decade. He probably does as many depositions of physicians as anyone in the state. He has spoken at numerous CAAA conventions, for the California State Bar, and writes regularly for Lexis/Nexis in their national and statewide newsletters.

Please join us on Wednesday, June 14th when Mr. Wixen will present a discussion on strategy, methodology, and useful tips to rebut medical testimony.

Mr. Weinstein will present a discussion on the rights and obligations of parties to pending litigation when one of the parties files a bankruptcy case. He will cover things such as 1) what is and isn’t automatically stayed; 2)getting relief from the automatic stay; 3)who controls what rights; and 4)what disclosures have to be made to the bankruptcy system. The floor will be open for questions all along (not only at the end).

Doug Ridley is a criminal defense attorney and former Ventura County Deputy District Attorney.

Doug takes us through how a DUI case is investigated, prosecuted, and punished. Doug discussed the aspects of both the administrative procedure through the DMV as well as the criminal court procedure which is instigated by the prosecution with emphasis on how this effects professionals.

Tenants’ Rights Lawyers Frances Campbell and Nima Farahani will help you learn how to plead these cases so that they generate not only damages for the client, but fees for the practitioner. This MCLE will cover both statutory and the common law claims, and address the pros and cons of litigating these cases in state and federal court.

MCLE stands for the mandatory or minimum continuing legal education required of attorneys in jurisdictions that have adopted an MCLE requirement. California has adopted a MCLE requirement for its lawyers.
